The Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is an assessment of the physical capabilities of a worker compared to the physical demands of his or her particular job. The test involves strength and range of motion measurements, other standardized tests, job simulation and effort testing. This test is usually performed at a therapy clinic and is typically a 4-hour exam. The FCE evaluation uses objective measurements to determine a worker's capabilities for return to work, provide objective measurements of consistency in effort, and determines maximum medical improvement for end-of-case resolution.
FCEs are done in the Hartford location.
