Eastern Rehabilitation Network, a department of Hartford Hospital (HH), offers a comprehensive benefits program. Full time is being scheduled to work 40 hours per week, and part time is being scheduled to work 20-39 hours per week. The benefits package includes:
Medical Insurance - available through Aetna on the first day of the month after 30 days of employment for full-time and eligible part-time employees. Coverage may be purchased for spouse, dependents to age 19 or 25 if a full-time student, and domestic or civil union partners. Cost is shared by employee and company.
Dental Insurance - available on the first day of the month after 30 days of employment for fulltime and eligible part-time employees. Coverage may be purchased for spouse, dependents to age 19 or 25 if a full-time student, and domestic or civil union partners. Cost is shared by employee and company. Two levels of coverage are available to full time employees.
Long-term Disability – effective on the first day of the month after 30 days of employment for full-time employees. Cost is paid by HH.
Short-term Disability - available on hire or during open enrollment. The rate is based on age, hours worked, and plan selected. Cost is paid by employee.
Life Insurance (basic life and accidental death and dismemberment) – effective on the first day on the first day of the month after 30 days of employment for full-time employees. Cost is paid by HH.
Supplemental Life Insurance - additional life insurance benefit. Cost is paid by employee.
Savings/Retirement Plan (401K) - available at the time of hire. Human Resources will provide an information packet with plan review and enrollment information.
Flexible Spending Accounts (health care account and/or dependent care account) – available on the first day of the month after 30 days of employment and during open enrollment for full-time and eligible part-time employees. The employee contributes pre-tax dollars.
Paid Time Off (PTO), a bank of time off that includes vacation, sick and holiday time - accrual begins on date of hire for all full-time and eligible part-time employees. Cost is paid by HH.
Rates are based on scheduled hours and position:
Support personnel: 0.08462/hr up to 40 hrs/week (up to 3.37 hrs/week)
Clinical/professional personnel: 0.10385/hr up to 40 hrs/week (up to 4.15 hrs/week)
Managers and Directors: 0.11154/hr up to 40 hrs/week (up to 4.46 hrs/week)
Accrual rates increase with longevity and/or promotion. Unused hours will accumulate through the end of 2010. At the end of 2010 unused time will be paid at 50% of the employee’s hourly rate. In 2011, ERN will adopt Hartford Hospital’s “Choice Time” policy.
Continuing Education - effective upon hire. Each full-time or eligible part-time employee has monies provided to use for enhancing skills. Employees can select from ERN offerings (more than 150 hours/year), courses offered by affiliates of Hartford HealthCare, and outside offerings.
Tuition Reimbursement - for approved job related or degree courses. Years of service based on the employee’s hire date and status (full-time/ part-time) determine the level of financial eligibility. Tuition Reimbursement is granted on a first come, first serve basis.
